Sodapop Curtis

  Soda pop Patrick Curtis or  "Soda," is the middle Curtis boy,Pony boy's older brother and darrys younger brother . He's said to be "movie star handsome," the kind of handsome that you would stop on the street to watch go by. he has silky, dark  hair that he combs back with hair grease, dark brown recklessly, dancing eyes and a  grin that you can't help but love.  He dropped out of high school at 16 to help darry pay for the bills by  working at the local gas station with his best friend , Steve, fixing cars. It's also said  that soda  attracts girls like flies to honey. Girls, both soc and greasers will get gas there just to stare and flirt with him. 

He is idolized by his younger brother, Pony boy, and feels torn between both brothers, "like tug-a-war."

 Soda pop is dating, a greaser girl, Sandy near the beginning of the book, but later brake up because her  parents didn't approve of the idea of Soda marrying her.

 Sodapop enjoys racing, fighting, dancing, and basically anything that would blow off      steam. When asked by his younger brother why he liked to fight, he simply replied that it  was fun and a challenge for him.
